Embrace the Power of "Get To"
Share
Hey, Wellness Team,
I hope you're having a beautiful day!
Today, I want to talk about a simple yet powerful shift in how we talk to ourselves. Often, we say things like, "I have to go to work today" or "I have to go to the gym." But the truth is, you don’t have to; you get to. You get to go to the gym because it’s good for you. You get to go to work because it helps you pay your bills.
The way we word things is crucial because it shapes how our brain attaches meaning to them. You don’t have to give the person you love a kiss; you get to, because it shows your love and is good for both of you. Kissing and hugging brings joy and connection.
Try implementing this shift in your vocabulary. Instead of saying, "I have to do this," try saying, "I get to do this." You don’t have to be healthy; you get to be healthy because it benefits you. You don’t have to take your dogs out; you get to, because it’s good for both you and your dogs. You don’t have to go to the gym; you get to go to the gym because it’s worth the payoff.
Think about this shift in perspective. It can transform your daily routines and how you feel about them.
I love you deeply, and have a beautiful day!
